As he got down on one knee in the middle of Courtney’s favorite spot in the city she knew two things; a) she was deeply and madly in love with this man and b) she would follow him to the dark side of the moon and back. When Matt put the ring on her finger he knew that this gorgeous woman he loved more than anything would stand by him forever. I’m pretty sure they call that love head-over-heels.
Courtney & Matt, I am thisclose to creating a fan page on Facebook in honor of you. I love you guys that much.
And please applaud the fact that I managed to avoid inserting Beyonce lyrics into this post when typing “put the ring on her finger”. Trust me, I wanted to.
No but really. Just LOOK at them. The tip-toes, the way Matt soooo wants to kiss her… My job = easy.
Hand placement = fantastic. Cover grandma’s eyes.
And then their dance party started. This was the moment I both died of laughter and fell in love.
So once I knew they would dance (and dance in public, mind you) it was like a moth to the proverbial flame. Flame of dance.
Right? I know. There are no words.
Courtney has the most amazing hair I have ever seen in my life.
Guthrie. Who knew yellow could be so chic?
I know as a people photographer I should usually aim for – oh, I don’t know - in focus pictures, but this one made me swoon.
i’m yours,
melissa

I do love that last one. And I really like the mixture of action, and full frontal (hah) ones that you captured. A great spectrum! Lucky couple to have you!
So glad I finally go to see these pictures since we are sans internet at home! You did such a wonderful job and made it a great experience for Matt and I. You are truly talented and think have found your niche in the photography business as you make people feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Not to mention your glowing comments – you are too kind! :) Can't wait to see the rest of them.
Beautiful couple and beautiful pictures!
Hi Sweetie…SOOOOO enjoying your pictures on your blog! AWESOME! (said with fireworks going off in the background). :)
My favorites: Pic #2 with contrasting lines in the bench and the vertical pipes in the background and #19 (next to last) with the "married" on the scaffolding. How did you do it?
Also, his blue shirt(s) are a wonderful compliment to her blue eyes!
Great shots – loved them! Made me want to give them big hugs. :)
Melissa! I was really struck by the powerful perspective and lines in the 2nd and 3rd photos. Those two would be beautiful blown up larger than 16×20! The waist-level shot (4) is really great, too. When I saw the first yellow-tinted shot I didn't know what to think. The second one is beautiful, though. It's really pretty. Your last photo, though, is INCREDIBLE! Focus is greatly overrated (half-kidding). While it doesn't feature the couple, it's a really pretty picture. Used in a series, the other photos would explain it well enough. Again, it's a really pretty photograph.
Thanks Melissa — great photos !!!! we sure had fun during the shoot — my personal favorite is the 5th one from the bottom that has the nice buildings in the background…and I love the one at the top of the guthrie that has MARRIED on it … awesome!
You definitely own the waterfront\guthrie…HANDS DOWN!
Love these! Love these! Love these!
Can I please come on a shoot with you very soon? You're amazing…! :D
love the photos, love the photographer, and love the lovely couple. that is a lot of love!
super cute couple! love the dancing shots!
So pretty! And I love their awesome dance moves! Makes me wanna bust out the robot! ;)
